The Australian Automotive Dealers Association (AADA) says that car dealers in New South Wales are still allowed to open to customers but those in the affected areas of Greater Sydney, Central Coast, Blue Mountains, Wollongong and Shellharbour are complying with the state governments directives.
“Dealers in the affected areas of NSW are complying with the restrictions that were put in place yesterday, such as the requirement for masks to be worn and the one person per four square metre rule,” AADA chief executive James Voortman says.
“At this stage dealers are still allowed to open to customers, and they are doing so in a covid-safe way. All are monitoring the situation and the Government’s advice very closely,” he says.
The Berejiklian government has told people who live or work in the City of Sydney, Waverley, Randwick, Canada Bay, Inner West, Bayside, and Woollahra local government areas, that they cannot move beyond the boundary of metropolitan Sydney for non-essential travel.
